Kansas

Hello. I am currently in Kansas for the funeral of my great-grandmother. I had the opportunity to write a little bit on my way down here. It was one long car ride but at least I was a little bit productive. I finished two pages of In The Dark, bringing the total page count of novel #1 to 22 pages. I feel like the writing is going a lot slower than it should. That might be partly because I had to nix two chapters. What happened was I wrote myself into a corner so I dropped two chapters and started again. I wish I could have a good day of solid writing but that doesn't look likely to happen. Here's to hoping.

  1. I must say, that when I was seventeen, my major goal was to go to college, and then med school. Becoming a novelist was far down on the list of things I wanted to do. Then, while busily practicing medicine, in 1989, I took this crazy notion to write a novel. I wrote the first part quickly, but then I moved, got new computers, and got too busy, so my novel just gathered dust in my office. Then, last year, through the pushing of some well meaning friends, my novel again sprouted wings, and is now almost done (I've posted it on my blog, actually, a chapter per week). I don't know if it will be published , though I suspect that it will be.
Anyway, my reasons for telling you all this is not to be discouraged by the time it takes, for it may come quickly, slowly, or not at all. But don't get discouraged. For I do think that it will happen.
    Best of luck.
